Voice over IP (VoIP) - A Dark art?

IP Voice (VoIP)

Continuity Assured recognises that sometimes the mainstream ADSL offerings just aren’t good enough. When important elements of your organisation rely on technology, sometime it pays to look at specialist provision.

Internet is easy – so why not just pay your TV provider £6 per month for broadband?

Well, if all you want to do is surf sites, then domestic ADSL is probably fine for you. There are however circumstances where this would be the worst thing you could do. The key one amongst these are if you wish to use the connection for time critical data such as voice. Voice over internet (VoIP) is a “real time” requirement. ‘Bits’ of your voice being delayed for the odd second here or there as it fights with the rest of the worlds surfing data, doesn’t work. You brain can’t cope and the conversation becomes unintelligible. At times like that you need a vDSL or dedicated ‘voice only’ link.

vDSL – Specialist connections for VoIP

Voice over IP (VoIP) is particularly demanding and will not provide an acceptable level of service if the transport mechanism is sub-standard. Most broadband offerings from mainstream providers are geared to mass markets and do not usually take account of the demands you place on mission critical circuits. Contention rates are poor and the support and monitoring available on most broadband offerings is totally inadequate. Now there is an option. We have put together a range of products to provide not just the fastest and most reliable connections available for VoIP, but that are also backed by an impressive help desk and remote monitoring solution. There are 4 grades available; Business, Business+, Accelerate and Ultimate.

All 4 variants feature

  • A Dedicated 24 x 7 internet access
  • High data transmission rates
  • Selectable upload usage limits (some unlimited)
  • Low contention
  • Up to 8 Static Ip addresses
  • Preconfigured, ‘Plug and Go’ 4 Port Firewall/Router
  • No Port blocking or Traffic Shaping
  • SMTP access for any domain
  • Fully Redundant Network
  • Dedicated Technical Support – report issues 24/7 on a freephone number
  • No Activation Fees
  • Realtime network monitoring

The difference between the options is largely about the speed of connection and the limits (if any) there is on data volume.
